Hopscotch FAQs
Our Care
Once you create an account, you will be able to access sessions from your dashboard after logging in. If doing a virtual session, sessions are conducted using a HIPAA-compliant Zoom link. If your child is receiving care, you will be required to attend the first session to provide background information to your family's therapist.
Your therapist will let you know how often they recommend meeting with you or your family. Though your presence may not be required in every session if your child is the one receiving care, communication with your therapist is important in seeing progress in treatment.
Hopscotch providers have experience, training, and expertise in working specifically with the child and adolescent population. Our providers are equipped to help children struggling with various common childhood concerns and mental health conditions. You can learn more about each provider's specialties by visiting their profile page.
At Hopscotch, in addition to therapy, we’ve also worked with clinical experts to create digital games and activities to support your children with mental health skill-building beyond the clinic setting. Find more information about our platform of digital games and activities, learn about Hopscotch Play here.
We are currently live in the following states: Alabama, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and West Virginia. The person receiving care must reside in one of these states. Don't see your state listed? Click here to get notified when we are live in your state!
While all of our providers are vetted to ensure that they have the specific expertise and credentials to work with children and teens, many of our providers also support adults.
Currently, most of our providers are performing telehealth visits, but we are quickly expanding our provider base to accommodate in-person visits.
Our providers treat many different conditions and concerns including: Anxiety Disorders, Adjustment Disorder, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (DMDD), Depression, Attachment Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Conduct Disorder, Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), ADHD, Psychotic Disorders, Personality Disorders, ODD, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Substance Use/Abuse, Sensory Processing Disorder.
Our Hopscotch clinicians are unable to prescribe medications. We have many practitioners accepting new patients who may be able to serve your child's therapeutic needs. If you want to explore that option, navigate to our directory and look at the therapists licensed to see patients in your state.
Scheduling
Check out our article explaining How it Works for an overview of our process. If you have any additional questions about how the therapy process works, send us an email: support@joinhopscotch.com.
Cancellation and rescheduling are done through the Hopscotch platform. Please login to make this request directly with your Hopscotch provider.
If you need to cancel your appointment, please contact your provider at least 24 hours in advance on the Hopscotch platform. If you cancel within 24 hours of an appointment or there is a no-show, you may be charged the $50 cancel/no-show fee.
Hopscotch will send a notification to your registered email address when the therapist has confirmed your appointment request. It will contain the therapist’s name, the person attending therapy, and the date and time of the appointment. It will also contain a secure Zoom link to participate in the session.
Pricing/Insurance
Your payment responsibility for visits will be determined by how you choose to pay for visits. If you choose to pay out-of-pocket/self-pay, you can find our self-pay rates here. If you choose to pay through insurance, your payment responsibility will be determined by your plan benefits.
Before your first visit, we submit your insurance details to your plan and then share your estimated payment responsibility.
Please note: Your final payment responsibility can only be determined after the claim is processed by your insurance. We recommend you also contact your insurance plan yourself to request an estimate for your visit.
Our current list of providers accepts these insurance plans. If we are out-of-network with your plan, we can provide you with the documentation (i.e - superbill) that you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. Granted that you’ve met your deductible, many plans reimburse for up to 70% of sessions.
Please note, this does not apply for Medicaid/Medicare. Please contact our support team at support@joinhopscotch.com if you have any questions on how to go about this process.
You will be charged once the clinician that you are working with verifies the session. This may occur a day after the session occurs, or up to 2 weeks after the session has happened. You will receive an email notifying you that your card will be charged 24 hours before we collect payment.
